FAQs

Minimally invasive veneers are ultra-thin shells custom-made to cover the front surface of your teeth, enhancing their appearance. Unlike traditional veneers, they require little to no enamel removal, making them a more conservative cosmetic solution. They are designed to improve the shape, color, and alignment of your teeth while preserving as much of your natural tooth structure as possible delivering a beautiful, long-lasting smile.

What Are Veneers Made Out Of?

Veneers are typically crafted from high-quality porcelain materials, offering durability and a natural appearance. The most common types used are:

  • Zirconia: Known for its strength and resistance to chipping, making it ideal for patients with heavier bites or those prone to grinding.
  • EMAX (Lithium Disilicate): Renowned for its lifelike translucency and superior aesthetics, making it a popular choice for front teeth and smile makeovers.

You may be a good candidate for minimally invasive veneers if you:

  • Have healthy teeth and gums with no signs of decay or gum disease.
  • Want to enhance the shape, size, or color of your teeth.
  • Have minor cosmetic imperfections such as small chips, gaps, or discoloration.
  • Are looking for a conservative option that preserves most of your natural tooth structure.

A consultation with your dentist will determine if this option is right for you.

If you have significant misalignment, large gaps, or extensive damage, other treatments may be more suitable.

No, veneers are not painful. The process of getting minimally invasive veneers is generally comfortable. Since little to no enamel removal is required, the procedure is typically painless. In some cases, patients may experience minor sensitivity after the veneers are placed, but this usually subsides quickly. Local anesthesia is rarely needed, but it can be used for added comfort if necessary.

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last anywhere from 15 to 20 years, and sometimes even longer. To maximize their longevity:

  • Maintain good oral hygiene with regular brushing and flossing.
  • Avoid biting on hard objects (e.g., ice, pens).
  • Wear a nightguard if you grind your teeth.
  • Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings.

Note: We don’t do composite veneers since they typically last only 5-7 years.

If you are not a candidate for minimally invasive veneers, there are alternative treatments to enhance your smile, including:

  • Traditional Veneers: Require more enamel removal but may be better for cases with more significant imperfections.
  • Dental Bonding: A less invasive, cost-effective solution for minor chips or gaps.
  • Teeth Whitening: Ideal for patients seeking to brighten their smile without any structural changes.
  • Orthodontics (Braces or Clear Aligners): Suitable for correcting misalignment or spacing issues before considering veneers.

Your dentist will recommend the best treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals.
